We are currently seeking an Offline Weld Repair for our St. Clair Shores, Michigan location. The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair of weld defects produced by automated weld robots and supporting production operators to meet production goals within a structured formal team.

The shift for this position is from 10:00pm - 6:00am

RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Perform various manual welding repairs as required to achieve production requirements
• Perform various visual and/or manual activities to inspect or verify the accuracy of the welds.
• Record repair counts, print labels and place on containers
• Perform basic housekeeping to keep area clean and safe
• Various other duties as required by the department

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of TS16949 quality standards and ISO 14001
• Knowledge of MIG welding, AWS, ability to follow established procedures
• Manual dexterity sufficient to use hand welder, pack and/or grip and operate hand tools.
• Computer literacy skills including the ability to perform basic data entry and operate visual touch screen display panels.
• Communicatio skills to interact with all levels of team, to work effectively with people.
• Math skills sufficient to perform department related tasks

LICENSURE: Internal weld certification

SAFETY: Safety glasses are required. Other safety equipment as needed

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Working environment and physical requirements of this position are those typical of a manufacturing environment and driving to off-site locations
• Frequent visual effort and concentration, and the ability to move throughout the plant required
• Ability to lift 40 pounds is required.
• Regular standing, moving about, and involves a variety of physical activities is required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Working environment and physical requirements of this position are those typical of a manufacturing environment and truck driver.
• Frequent visual effort and concentration, and extensive sitting and driving of hi-lo and trucks required
• Ability to lift 40 pounds is required.
• Regular sitting, standing, moving about, and involves a variety of physical activities required
