Job description
The Dawson County Extension Service is seeking to hire a full-time Office Assistant. Applicants should submit their resume, cover letter, and the names of three references. Training for this position would occur on April 24th-28th.
Responsibilities:
1. General secretarial duties
- Assist with news releases, columns, letters, brochures, flyers, and bulk mailings
- Customer assistance (i.e. phone calls, walk-ins, etc.)
- Maintain mailing address and lists in computer database software
- Photocopying, inventory, research, and order office supplies
- Maintain and update the Dawson County Extension webpage
2. Bookkeeping
- Prepare deposits
- Keep bookkeeping on office accounts
- Process year ends on accounts by working with staff
3. 4-H Support
- 4-H Livestock ID, eartags, questions, Quality Assurance
- Responsible for exhibit entry in county and state softward
- County Fair Preparation
- 4-H BBQ
4. Computer Support
- Assist in-office questions on email, internet, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.
- Responsible for all updates on backup laptops
Qualifications:
- High school education, or GED required.
- Secretarial and financial experience are assets.
- Computer proficiency required.
- Understanding of Nebraska Extension and 4-H is a plus.
Salary: County Salary scale and benefits
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
