Garden Center Nursery Sales Manager - Retail Team & Sales Management

With over 700 acres in nursery production, our team cultivates, maintains, and installs the largest selection of homegrown trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals throughout the Metro. Lanoha Nurseries is in search of a motivated individual that is seeking professional and personal growth in a take-charge environment. The Role of the Nursery Sales Manager will provide customer service and team support, and generate increased store sales in our Hardy Plant Material Department consisting of homegrown trees, perennials, and shrubs. The qualified candidate must possess leadership experience in retail sales, surpassing goals, team building, and excellent communication skills. Strong computer skills, horticultural knowledge, and landscape industry experience is a must.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-year degree (preferred)
  • Certifications in Landscape (preferred)
  • Progressive leadership roles in retail sales
  • Leadership experience that includes team building, mentoring, sales training
  • Must be a self-motivated, team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Flexible with schedule – availability to work evening and weekends
  • Time-management, cross department collaboration, and organizational skills in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round, must enjoy working outdoors and with plants

Responsibilities

  • Provide superior and professional customer service and real time problem resolutions
  • Drive sales and profitability through proper merchandising and product presentation
  • Drive sales and profitability through effective team building, training, and mentoring sales associates
  • Vendor relations, merchandising, and projecting show floor stocking needs
  • Managing and mentoring direct reports
