Sutter East Bay Medical Group is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join the Preoperative Clinic.

Location: Oakland, CA

The nurse practitioner is a licensed independent practitioner who is responsible for managing health problems and coordinating health care for the preoperative patient in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations.

The NP follows the nursing standards of care regarding assessment of health status, diagnosis, development of plan of care and treatment, implementation of treatment plan, and evaluation to patient status.

Preoperative preparation and clinical management is conducted in collaboration with other health care team members, specifically the Anesthesiologist Consultant and/or Medical Director.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing school
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Current California License as a Registered Nurse
• Current California License as a Nurse Practitioner
• Possess Furnishing Number from the State of California, Board of Registered Nursing
• Possess a DEA registration number issued by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration to furnish Controlled Substances, Scheduled II through V
• Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS)Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Excellent written/verbal interpersonal communication and problem solving skills
• Eligible for hospital privileges
• 2 years’ experience as a nurse practitioner preferred
