• Ambulates patients
• Turns and positions patients in a comfortable position
• Transfers patients from bed to chair and bed to stretcher
• Assists in transportation of patients from department to department as directed

• Cares for patients in isolation
• Reports patient findings and observations to the RN
• Reports abnormal findings
• Assists the Unit Care team in all emergency situations
• Reapplies restraints per the direction of the RN and completes safety checks

• EKG
• Places telemetry leads
• Applies heat and cold, antiembolic devices, and sequential compression devices per direction of the RN
• Changes non sterile dressings under the direction of the RN
• Post mortem care
• Prepares room for admission
• Assists in patient discharge as directed
• Participates in the care of patient belongings

• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality
• Answers call lights
• Greets patients and visitors
• Informs the patient of what they are going to do for the patient
• Obtains report form the RN and gives report to the RN
• Obtains help for the patient and reports patient complaints promptly
• Assists in collection of information upon direction

• Assures that supplies are available
• Stocks materials to areas identified by the unit
• Assures that equipment is functioning properly
• Assures that equipment is clean and stored in the correct place

• Measures weights with an infant scale
• Measures head circumference
• Obtains vital signs of infants (does not perform Rectal Temps)

• Feeds infant with a bottle and nipple per direction
• Sets up breast pump
• NICU – performs gavage feeding of infants under the direction of the RN, (does not place the tube or do residual checks)

• Performs capillary heel stick to obtain specimens
• Performs urine tests for blood sugar, acetone, albumin
