ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following areas.

· Supervise and monitor service execution within the Customs brokerage department.

· Ensure staff are knowledgeable about the Department’s products and services and

the roles in the delivery of these products and services.

· Serve as a resource and content expert to department personnel by providing guidance and available to answer questions to clarify work activities.

· Ensure that department is properly staffed, structured and organized.

· Collect and submit reports specific to team data as requested.

· Facilitate team/department operations by discussions through the sharing of

information and knowledge, identification of teamwork issues, development of

problem‐solving recommendations, and recommendations of standardizing operations.

· Create weekly schedules to ensure appropriate coverage of work activities and

weekends and proper coverage on leave requests.

· Identify, assign, and follow‐up on work activities of supervised personnel.

· Identify practices that are and are not working and make recommendations to the

Department Manager.

· Supervise effective staff evaluations and reviews.

· Coach and mentor staff on an ongoing basis

· Supervise staff for continual growth in skills and expertise.

· Prepare and execute personal goals.

· Assist staff in preparing personal goals.

· Assure new employees receive all mandatory training in required timeframes.

· Maintain highest level in compliance as deemed necessary and applicable for CBP and other PGA requirements.

· Ensure company controls, policies, procedures, processes, applications, tools, and systems are understood and implemented.

· Supervise daily monitoring so that issues are resolved at the root cause level.

· Prepare and execute department business plan and goals.

· Supervise the department’s SOP’s/SOW’s to be updated and complete. Assure all customer have SOP’s/SOW’s on file.

· Attend all customs and association meetings locally.

· Sit in on customer meetings locally or at customer’s site.

· Attend continued education seminars in customer process and compliance

· Know all import accounts, contacts, process, etc…

· Assure every desk and account has a backup. You would be the 2nd/3rd level of back up to each account.

· Assure Jamco operation is being covered on a daily basis. Overlook weekend operations, enough to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

· Implement and start-up new accounts, build the SOP/SOW and assist with the transfer of responsibility to the account representative.

· Supervise the billing process and assure files are being passed within 1-2 days of clearance.

· Be actively involved in the cost reduction and metric development team.

· Hold weekly/bi-weekly meetings with the team, document for ISO Standards

· Quarterly visits to customers (traveling to Mexico) or participation in Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR’s).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Training & Experience):

High school diploma or G.E.D. supplemented by some continuing education from a college or technical school in Import/Export and four (5) years of experience in a progressive responsible position or any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
