Position: North Bay Area Sales Representative

Type: Full Time

Reporting to: Bay Area District Manager

Rate: $60,000 per year - $65,000 per year plus Bonus’

Drake’s Brewing Company is a top 10 Northern California craft brewer who continues to grow consistently and has an opening for an ambitious, motivated, passionate individual. As the initial and primary contact of our brewery to many, this important position will collaborate with the Bay Area District Manager, as well as the VP of Sales, to develop plans that inspire and engage craft beer drinkers to become loyal customers of Drake’s Brewing Company and Bear Republic Brewing Company products. An outgoing and engaging personality will be critical to establish and cultivate strong relationships with distributor and retail personnel as well as consumers.

Job Responsibilities/Main Functions/Main Tasks:

  • Responsible for selling in all channels: on- and off-premise, maximizing existing business and attaining new business in independent and chain accounts for both current and non-buys
  • Coordinate with District Manager to develop and execute weekly, monthly and annual plans
  • Understand and effectively communicate brand attributes to distributors and retail customers
  • Actively work with distributor sales personnel to achieve results throughout the territory and achieve top level share of mind
  • Responsible ensuring maximum distributor focus and investment of Drake’s portfolio
  • Collaborate with Drake’s District Manager on market analysis and plans
  • Development of target account lists and execute call frequencies
  • Active in-market implementation/execution/evaluation of the weekly and annual plans
  • Daily communication with key wholesaler management and sales teams
  • Development and execution with assigned distributor to grow volume and share of market
  • Accountable for volume, distribution, and retail execution
  • Operate within assigned budget to meet objectives and grow sales
  • Assess competitive landscape to ensure proper pricing strategy in all segments
  • Consistent verbal and written communication to recap activity, opportunities, and follow up
  • Participation in brewery, distributior and area activities: Samplings, Events, Sales Meetings, Promos, Crew Drives, Ride Withs and other potential activities

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Prior sales experience & demonstrated success
  • Knowledge and experience in the three-tier selling model preferred
  • Four-year college degree preferred
  • Effective interpersonal and communication, relationship building skills
  • Positive Attitude: Results driven, Problem Solving, Personal Accountability, Strong initiative
  • High energy team player with strong social skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Software Suite
  • Comfortable learning new CRM-based software technologies
  • Comfortable with nontraditional work schedule – some nights and weeks

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • CPG experience preferred
  • Knowledge and familiarity with craft beer industry
  • Valid CA Driver’s License, with no moving violations in recent past
  • Must live in East Bay Area
  • Must be 21 years of age or older

This includes working hours, trade shows, festivals and in any other work-related function where you are a representative of Drake’s Brewing Company. Any poor reflection or legal matters that may arise due to poor judgment may be dealt with by means of disciplinary action or termination.
