Here’s what you will do: The Quality Assurance Technician (7pm-7am) assists the Quality Manager in the preparation of lab samples, general in-process & lab tests, and preparation/daily review of the production paperwork. The QA Specialist also helps with updating the Quality manual and SOPs, respond to customer survey packets, and other documents as assigned.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform various internal tests on product samples, including, but not limited to pH analysis, moisture determination and viscosity analysis
• Maintain records of testing results or other documents as required by state or other governing agencies
• Monitor and control temperature of products
• Record or compile test results and prepare graphs, charts, or reports and send to outside labs when appropriate.
• Taste or smell foods to ensure that flavors meet specifications or to select samples with specific characteristics.
• Assist in the manufacturing process by communicating quality control expectations and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
• Assist in setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment
• Ensure regulated and proper PPE and clothing is used/worn
• Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
• Observe, receive, and obtain information from all relevant sources.
• Identify information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
• Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
• Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
• Identify the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.
• Handle and compile production samples to be sent to outside labs.
• Assists QA/QC Manager in the development and implementation of documents relating to the Standard Operating Procedures for production of products and co-products of the company.
• Assists QA/QC Manager in the preparation of customer QA survey packets and other customer communications as assigned.
• Conduct internal audits, assign corrective actions, and follow up.

Here’s what you will need to be successful:

• Training in vocational schools, related on-the-job experience, or an associate's degree.

• Be 18 years of age

• Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds
• Microsoft Suite: Outlook, Excel, Word and Access
• Raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
• Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
• Chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods. Calibration and testing using NIR methodology is a definite plus.
• The structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar

• Able to legally work in the United States

Here’s what we offer:

• Competitive starting pay of $17.76-$21/hr, depending on applicable experience.
• Steady full time work with hours of 7pm-7am
• Shift differential for hours worked between 7pm-7am, this is in addition to the base rate listed!
