The Coordinator, Social Media will be responsible for the creation and execution of social media content and programs for the NY Liberty. The role will focus upon developing editorial content, managing social media marketing programs, increasing the size of social audiences across platforms and supporting digital revenue generation.

This Coordinator will be responsible for creating dynamic and hyper-relevant content, engaging with fans using the appropriate brand voice on a day-to-day basis, covering live events, managing the overall content calendar, creating graphics & images for social media, and identifying & engaging with influencers. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, creative idea generator, and digital marketing & sports/entertainment enthusiast.

JOB DESCRIPTION – WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Develop and implement marketing programs across all social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat, Reddit, Twitch, Giphy) for the NY Liberty
  • Help further craft and implement social media strategy/persona/tone of voice/POV for the NY Liberty
  • Assist in building out the social media content calendar, strategically planning the timing of content and handling publishing duties
  • Support revenue generation of social media platforms for partnerships, ticket sales and merchandise
  • Manage day-to-day communications across Liberty social media channels utilizing team/brand voice and meeting high quality standards
  • As appropriate, attend events at Barclays Center, in-market and on the road to provide coverage and capture real-time content
  • Interface with internal teams across the company to coordinate content posting, website content, creative requests, reporting and more
  • Provides regular reports and analytics on all social media platforms
  • Stay abreast of the latest digital & social media trends to fuel a competitive edge and stimulate innovation

CANDIDATE PROFILE – WHO YOU ARE:

  • At least 2-4 years’ experience in social media/marketing; sports/entertainment/brand experience preferred
  • Fluency in cornerstone social media platforms and publishing tools therein
  • Strong copywriting skills and the ability to write creative content for blogs/social media, while translating brand personality into assets, copy and design
  • A strategic thinker, able to parlay social content ideas to other platforms and vice versa
  • Familiar with social reporting tools - specifically, the ability to pull reports, analyze data, and leverage the information to inform approach to subsequent campaigns
  • Strong interest in and deep knowledge of basketball, league rules, teams, and phraseology
  • Understand consumer social media behavior and experience growing audiences and engagement through social media
  • Experience with basic video production and editing
  • Sponsored and paid media integration experience a must
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite, experience with Adobe Photoshop and Premiere
  • Keen attention to detail, strong conflict resolution, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Bachelor’s degree (a Journalism, Marketing or Communications degree is preferred)

Salary Range

$49,000 - $55,000

Work Environment


Works primarily in an office environment but upon request will be expected to attend games and other events on evenings, weekends and holidays.
