Job description
This is 3rd (overnight) shift.
Duties and Responsibilities
Monitor circuits (company and customer), Core & edge network devices along with internal servers. Gather and interpret status information for correct operation using Nagios, Cacti, and other monitoring/alarm applications.
Monitor voice switch for correct operation. Navigate and interpret status displays.
Interact with vendors and customers for problem notification and resolution.
Troubleshoot customer voice, VoIP (hosted PBX), and data issues in a timely fashion while.
Coordinate with other Network Operations Center staff for weekly-rotating 24×7 on-call coverage. This includes carrying a issued cell-phone and laptop for on-call hours.
Maintain DNS, domain name, and IP registrations, updating of databases, SWIP registrations. Manage shared web services and certificates.
Backup dispatch to customer and core locations.
Assist in Co-Location management (keys, cabinets, etc.).
Perform emergency visits to customer and core network locations.
Required Skills
Extensive knowledge and understanding of Local Telecommunications including:
POTS, Trunks, ISDN PRI, DID, Integrated T1’s, DMARC, Smart Jacks, Wiring, 66 Blocks, etc.
Extensive knowledge and understanding of VoIP (Hosted PBX) systems including:
Extensions, ring groups, call queues, auto attendants, IVRs, call parks, conference bridges, intercoms, paging, overhead paging, Poly business/desk phones (SoundPoint and VVX), Poly conference phones (SoundStation and Trio), etc.
Have experience with IADs, how to provision and trouble shoot them.
Able to troubleshoot TCP/IP networks/services and understand concepts.
Able to troubleshoot static and dynamic routing.
Experience with the following:
T1 circuits and troubleshooting.
PBX features and concepts.
Windows 7, 10
Windows Server and Unix O/S is a plus.
Cisco IOS
LAN environments.
DNS & DNS concepts.
Email & Email concepts. From both client and server perspectives.
Firewall concepts
VPN concepts
Perseverance with vendors for aggressive problem resolution.
Familiarity with common administration tasks for both UNIX and Microsoft servers. This is not a system administration position; basic debugging skills are required.
Education
Associates degree in related discipline, preferred. CCNA preferred or related experience.

Pay: $44,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
