Summary:

Contribute to the operational effectiveness of the I.T. Department and the entire WCP organization by administering WCP's physical and cloud datacenters, networks, enterprise storage, virtualization infrastructure, and other critical infrastructure services and applications. Assure working compliance and functionality with our I-Series-AS400 systems and DR (disaster-recovery) requirements. Stay on top of new technologies and advise on your findings. The Network & Systems Administrator is responsible for the availability, reliability, performance, and security of the core IT infrastructure that provides the foundation for WCP's day-to-day operations.

Essential Functions:
  • Maintains all enterprise network infrastructure, including all WAN, LAN, wireless, Cloud, and data center networking infrastructure
  • Maintains all physical & cloud servers and associated hardware, applications, services, and settings
  • Maintains other critical infrastructure services, including websites, active directory services, DNS, file services, and backups
  • Monitor & secure the network to ensure optimal performance, troubleshoot network problems, recommend improvements
  • Implement and manage disaster recovery processes and perform rehearsals
  • Works with IT Support Specialists to ensure timely and proper resolution of service desk incidents/problems that require escalation, and provides technical expertise to other IT staff
  • Evaluate and recommend security improvements and system upgrades
  • Install and configure computer network equipment as needed
Other Functions:
  • Administer Active Directory and VPN
  • Administer Telephony system
  • Develop and monitor policies for the use of network resources
  • Creates and maintains network and system architecture diagrams and documentation
  • Coordinate with IT Help Desk for proper onboarding and offboarding of employee's access to WCP systems including user's Windows accounts, e-mail, and distribution list accuracy
  • Participate with other IT staff on special projects to help assure success
  • Identify process improvement opportunities
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in ongoing educational opportunities
  • Provides on-call support for all areas of responsibility
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related, or equivalent work experience in a computer operations or computer networking position
  • Current infrastructure, network, or security certification preferred
  • Demonstrated aptitude or certifications with Microsoft Windows 10 and Office 365
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting virtualized infrastructure (Hyper-V and/or VMWare)
  • Experience with IP based phone systems & CCTV systems
  • Experience maintaining enterprise SAN and NAS storage technologies
  • Experience in administration of firewalls, load balancers, routers, switches, and network cabling
  • Experience configuring and supporting current versions of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, SQL Server, and Exchange
  • Expertise and experience administering Office 365, Websites, Azure, Meraki/Cisco, Ubuntu/Linux, and Veeam backups
  • Expertise setting up and administering wireless networks
  • Demonstrated expertise of Cisco and Cisco Meraki Networking technologies
  • Demonstrated overall Networking expertise, including TCP/IP communications, IP addressing, and routing
  • Experience using or administering an IBM System-I (AS400) a plus

  • Understands On-Prem and Cloud based technologies
  • Excellent understanding of computer hardware, including printers, scanners, smart phones, and other peripherals
  • Excellent knowledge of networking principles, virtualization, operating systems, and security
  • Hands-on technical troubleshooting capabilities
  • Familiarity with server management and monitoring tools
  • Ability to quickly learn new and rapidly changing technologies
  • Possess Project Management skills
  • Dependable and ability to work independently and be self-motivated
  • Ability to create and edit network drawings
  • Ability to manage and automate infrastructure via PowerShell or other languages
  • Familiar with remote assistance software
Working Conditions:
  • Professional office, and work from home can be worked out
  • Frequent use of basic office equipment (i.e., computer, mouse, stapler, 3-hole punch, copier, etc.).
  • Occasional requirement of overtime, weekend, on-call work
  • Occasional travel
  • Must be able to sit and type for extended periods of time
  • Frequent telephone and electronic meeting contact with IT staff, users, and vendors
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a semi-regular basis; bend and stoop as necessary for Server, PC and communications equipment maintenance
