Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Shipping Managers in each region to analyze, identify, and streamline processes to achieve effectiveness and efficiencies through industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Develop, manage, and advise on all National fleet services and technical matters, including vehicles/equipment procurement and disposal, maintenance and repairs, and driver trainer programs.
  • Develop, streamline, and manage the fleet asset management plans and processes to align with corporate policies and industry best practices.
  • Monitor and ensure company compliance with all regulatory bodies, including DOT, CARB, IFTA, DOL, and OSHA, and oversee the fleet certification and legislative compliance requirements processes.
  • Provide oversight and leadership on the execution of procurements and projects, including conceptual planning, scheduling, budgeting, and managing resources and timelines.
  • Manage the allocation and effective utilization of vehicle/equipment assets and review long-term vehicle/equipment requirements with stakeholders to ensure financial resources are budgeted.
  • Reviews expenditure and productivity reports, determining deviations from planned unit costs, accomplishments, and budget allocations.
  • Manage all “out of service” vehicles, follow up with vendors to minimize downtime, and work with internal customers to implement corrective and preventative measures to protect corporate assets.
  • Manage all fleet operations and maintenance activities through effective asset utilization with an emphasis on fuel and safety while ensuring maintenance assessments are conducted appropriately.
  • Continually conduct market research to select cost-effective vehicles, equipment, and materials and ensure computerized management systems (telematics) are effectively utilized.
  • Develop and implement other detailed work plans, policies, and procedures regarding program-specific requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualification:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred. Additional education can be in lieu of experience.
  • 5+ years of Fleet Service Management or related experience is required, must have experience in issuing RFPs for equipment, services, and telematics procurement.
  • Advanced knowledge of DOT and CARB regulations.
  • Advanced in using Google Suite and MS Office Suite applications.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to lead and supervise teams to complete projects efficiently and on time.
  • Ability to effectively manage data entry and service contracts, including KPI implementation.
  • Ability to perform asset purchase negotiation effectively.
  • Ability to establish action plans and routinely assess their effectiveness.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and adhere to constant and challenging deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and coordinate efforts around process improvement.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
