Job description
The Corrosion Specialist is a long-term contract position working for an Oil & Gas client in the Houston, TX area. The Corrosion Specialist will travel to different projects to perform cathodic protection testing.
Corrosion Specialist Requirements:
- Knowledge of operating various coating inspection instruments and equipment according to NACE standards
- Perform field testing of new and old cathodic protection systems and other corrosion control systems
- Monitor corrosion protection activities for adherence to design specifications
- Conduct post-installation surveys, complete interference testing and energize rectifier systems Organize and analyze gathered data, prepare charts and tables
- Assemble field data for preparation of final client report including service recommendations
- Diagnose and recommend remedies for system difficulties observed during resurvey operations
- Recommend modifications to senior staff for approval
- NACE CP4 or CP5 certification desired
- 5+ years of experience as a NACE Coating Inspector working in the Oil & Gas industry
- Willing to work overtime and weekends
- Work to travel and work in all types of weather and worksite conditions
- Must be local to the Southeastern TX areas.
