Position Description:

PETA is looking for a smart, organized, responsive, and creative animal advocate to assist the Multimedia Projects Manager with projects across the organization, including web content, publications, and new technology. You should be accustomed to assisting with the management of several projects at once, and have basic working knowledge of HTML, exceptional organization, an eye for design and presentation, comfort working in a fast-paced digital environment, the ability to communicate clearly with staff and vendors, and be a champion for all animals.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assist the Multimedia Projects Manager in coordinating multimedia projects including standalone websites, contests, art exhibits, book releases, and more
• Post projects to PETA’s websites via WordPress, ensuring flawless presentation of text and multimedia elements
• Assist liaising with PETA's interactive media team to coordinate stand-alone features, and report technical issues
• Help work with PETA's Written Communications team to manage the production of long- and short-form writing, including books
• Assist with the Vice President of Content Strategy to coordinate and promote multimedia projects for the Office of the President
• Collaborate with PETA's social media team to ensure proper promotion of all content
• Assist with tracking and analyzing website traffic via Google Analytics, Brightedge, and any other necessary tools
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

• College degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Minimum one year of experience with project management
• Ability to multi-task and coordinate multiple projects at once
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Demonstrated exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines
• Excellent working knowledge of the Internet
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, as well as a willingness to learn new software
• Ability to draft catchy, clickable headlines
• Demonstrated knowledge of animal rights issues, being vegan, and PETA campaigns
• Thorough understanding and appreciation of the creative process
• Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
• Support for PETA's philosophy and the ability to advocate PETA's positions on issues professionally
• Adherence to a vegan lifestyle
• Commitment to the objectives of the organization

The hourly pay range for this position is $17.40 - $21.36 per hour. The ultimate hourly pay within this range that will be offered to a qualified candidate will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and the cost of living in the area in which the candidate will live and work.
