Title: Multicultural Center Assistant

Employee Classification: Part-time, Temporary

Institution: Northeast State Community College

Salary: $12.00 per hour/ up to 10 hours per week

Job Summary

Reporting to the Coordinator of Inclusive Excellence, the Multicultural Center Assistants will complete a range of tasks to aid in the daily operations, maintenance, and special events of the Inclusive Excellence Multicultural Center.

Job Duties

Provide quality customer service to those who visit the Multicultural Center
Serve as a point of contact for students, employees, and visitors during assigned hours
Work with campus programs and offices to assist students in utilizing the resources available to them
Assist in development, coordination, and implementation of Multicultural Center programming, activities, and events
Represent and promote the Multicultural Center to campus students and employees, prospective students, and the local community both virtually and in person
Perform general maintenance/custodial functions as needed
Participate in student leadership workshops

Minimum Qualifications

Currently enrolled Northeast State student
Customer service experience

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of at least one full-time semester of college at Northeast State or other accredited institution with at least a 2.5 GPA or previous Northeast State student
Previous mentoring, advising, or tutoring experience
Conversational ability or fluency in a second language

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Effective verbal and written communication skills
Technology Skills: MS Office Suite, proficient in video conferencing and general computer skills
Knowledge of campus resources
Ability to handle multiple assignments
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diverse population

Additional Notes

Student hours will vary according to class schedules.
Student job performance is evaluated by their immediate supervisor at the end of each semester.
