Mortgage Loan Originator Assistant

We are recruiting for a Mortgage Loan Originator Assistant at our Corporate Office located in Bethel Park.
Summary of Basic Function
A Mortgage Loan Originator Assistant helps facilitate the loan application process for our clients, assisting one or more of our Residential Mortgage Loan Originators. The primary function of this role is to ensure borrowers fully understand the financial implications and responsibilities involved in taking out a loan and make sure they complete their applications correctly. This role must complete and deliver all regulatory disclosures within required timeframes, assist receipt of all supporting documentation in a timely manner. , and have some knowledge of loan processing and loan closing requirements, disclosures, and how to maintain compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Accepts and processes residential mortgage and home equity loan applications from Mortgage Loan Originators.
  • Communicates with applicant and/or Mortgage Loan Originator to ensure application information is complete and accurate.
  • When necessary, completes application on behalf of the Mortgage Loan Originator.
  • Creates and delivers all required regulatory disclosures within applicable timeframes.
  • Order appraisals, title insurance, private mortgage insurance and other necessary third-party documentation.
  • Verifies applicant information in accordance with Federal requirements.
  • Verifies the accuracy of collateral valuations.
  • Obtains and analyzes credit reports, income documents and asset statements.
  • Performs pre-underwriting responsibilities, including the review of debt-to-income and loan-to-value ratios prior to submission to underwriting.
  • Enters and updates data in the Encompass Loan Origination System.
  • Prepares welcome letter, commitment letter or adverse action notice based on loan decision.
  • Reviews data associated with the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act to ensure its accuracy.
  • Provide a superior customer experience to all internal and external customers.
  • Represent and promote favorable image and uphold the reputation through involvement in community activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Requirements
  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s or Associates degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two to four years in a financial services environment; experience using Encompass LOS is a plus.
  • Must be self-motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Should possess exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail and be able to handle data input with precision.
  • Should be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must have the ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of consumer compliance regulations relating to mortgage lending is preferred.
  • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and follow-through skills.
  • Must possess or obtain registration with NMLS.
  • Physical Requirements: prolonged standing (5-8 hours per day), frequent use of hands to manipulate/grasp objects, ability to communicate face to face and on the phone with clients, occasional bending and lifting from floor height, frequent forward reach, frequent lifting of 1-10lbs, occasional lifting of up to 50lbs, ability to see and read fine print, must be able to distinguish and count currency.
  • Job may require working evenings and Saturdays. Job may require local travel between branches or offsite travel for training.
