Mission:

Quantum is seeking a motivated interdisciplinary Modeling and Simulations Analyst with a Systems Engineering mindset who has a strong desire to become an integral part in developing the future of Assured Access to Space (previously Launch Enterprise). Provides support as needed to the US Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC), Capability Development Integration Directorate (CDID) government personnel for efforts associated with innovations for Space, Near Space, Space Control, Missile Defense Capabilities and Information Operations to the Warfighter. Location: Colorado Springs, CO (alternate locations for this position Huntsville, Alabama)

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in process development, roadmap modifications, and sprint execution
  • Coordinate and communicate with a cross-disciplinary and multi-organizational team toward a common goal
  • Work hands on to accomplish required tasks and assist others develop skills through expert knowledge
  • Utilize Multi-Disciplinary Analysis and Optimization (MDAO) best practices in solutions and build a reputation as the MDAO SME
  • Create visualizations for management review
  • Develop technical solutions for various evaluation problems
  • Document current and future configuration processes and policies
  • Manage system interfaces and conduct mission integration studies by sharing models across various engineering disciplines
  • Automate analytical workflows across organizational boundaries to quickly explore the performance, cost, and risk of many different mission design alternatives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, systems engineering, or a related field
  • Modeling, simulating, and analyzing experience of high-fidelity launch vehicles and/or spacecraft in areas such as loads, structures, acoustics, avionics, and GNC.
  • Proficient using simulation tools (such as MATLAB, Simulink, SolidWorks, Ansys, STK, and AFSIM) and coding languages (such as R, Python, and C++)
  • Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, effective decision-making, successful collaboration with diverse organizations and personnel, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven track record leading projects, preferably in an agile environment
  • Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Secret clearance (ability obtain/maintain TS when if applicable) -preferred

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with modeling languages (such as UML, DoDAF, SysML, and UAF), modeling tools (such as Cameo, Sparx, TeamCenter, and DOORS Next Generation), or machine learning libraries (such as Scikit-learn or Keras)
