Position Summary
Skilled work mainly operating and maintaining motor vehicles and rolling equipment to accomplish maintenance tasks and assignments.
Requires one full year of experience in mobile equipment operations.
Requires a valid Class D Chauffeurs Driver’s License for state of residence, or obtain within 90 calendar days of hiring date, and maintain validity.

Possess knowledge of general motor vehicle and rolling equipment operation and maintenance techniques, methods and procedures.
Possess skill in performing general motor vehicle and rolling equipment operation and maintenance functions.
Possess ability to complete general motor vehicle and rolling equipment operation and maintenance duties and responsibilities.
Possess ability to read and interpret a greater New Orleans metropolitan road map.
Possess ability to use hand tools and power tools and equipment properly.
Possess ability to carry, erect, climb, and maneuver on ladders and/or scaffolds; work in tight and awkward spaces; work off of roofs, cat walks, and other elevated areas.
Possess ability to carry or otherwise move loads of 50 pounds or more (pipe, wire, tool boxes, etc.).
Possess ability to work outdoors in all types of weather and within extreme temperature ranges.
Possess visual ability, corrected, to observe people and/or vehicles moving through the work area in order to redirect work or equipment to avoid injuries to the people or damage to the vehicles.
Possess ability to communicate information effectively, in English, both verbally and in writing.

LSU Health New Orleans division of Facility Services is seeking motivated applicants for the position of Mobile Equipment Operator. There are multiple vacancies.
Requires one full year of experience in mobile equipment operations.
Requires a valid Class “D” Chauffer’s license for state of residence, or ability to obtain within 90 calendar days of hiring date and maintain validity.
Knowledge of General motor vehicle and rolling equipment operations and maintenance techniques, methods, and procedures.
Starting rate of pay is 15.79 per hour with an additional $1 Longevity Pay for hours worked only. Rate of pay may be adjusted Dependent upon applicants’ qualifications.
Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- properly and safely operate the following equipment: Bobcat tractor, passenger van, pickup truck, dump body truck, stake body truck, sweeper, power washer truckster, rental equipment and other equipment used in daily or for special purpose tasks
- picks up parts and materials from vendors;
- transports coworkers or other persons between-points on and/or off institution grounds
- building exterior clean-up
- tree maintenance
- intramural field maintenance
- assists other departments as assigned
- work orders
