Cooley is seeking a Mobile Device Management Engineer to join the Desktop and Endpoint Engineering team in the Information Services Department.
Position summary: The Mobile Device Management Engineer is responsible for the delivery of applications, configurations & policies to Android, Apple and Windows devices through Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), Microsoft Endpoint Manager/Intune & Jamf based on the expertise from application owners, subject matter experts and other IS team members. Assist with support and management of the existing MECM infrastructure. Leverage MECM to co-manage endpoints with the ConfigMgr agent or those managed by Intune. Package & deploy applications to Windows 10 devices and convert them for delivery via Intune. Provide advanced technical support for the firm's devices, troubleshooting, monitoring, and managing the enterprise mobile device infrastructure. Ensure smooth and reliable operation of corporate devices managed by MECM including application and Windows OS installation, configuration & support as well as personal and corporate devices managed by the firm's MDM solution. Provide timely responses to support emails and tickets addressed to the Desktop and Endpoint Engineering team. Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Position responsibilities:
  • Provide advice, assistance, investigation, coordination, and implementation services for improving or extending existing and emerging device management solutions akin to MECM, Endpoint Manager/Intune and Jamf
  • Implement, document, and recommend configuration standards and train IT department staff on proper use of the firm’s mobile device management system according to established policies & procedures
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions. Values and encourages team collaboration. Possesses a thorough understanding of business and technology disciplines
  • Monitor overall mobile device performance, assessing gaps and overlaps, analyzing, and implementing process models to optimize management & delivery in a highly diverse, international user environment
  • Configure, deploy, and support firm applications delivered to endpoints using the firm’s mobile device management system
  • Work with users on timely resolution of escalated issues from the service desk
  • Evaluate & plan for the migration of shifting various workloads from Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) to Intune & Jamf
  • Create & maintain PowerShell scripts for automation or task-specific execution be it locally or remotely
  • Read manuals, periodicals, technical reports and use online services to increase system knowledge and utilization
Skills and experience:
Required:
  • 2+ years’ experience with at least 3 Windows desktop operating system versions, applications support, as well as support of at least five different desktop and laptop hardware devices
  • Functional knowledge of Android and iOS, macOS and Microsoft Windows Operating systems
  • Familiarity with benefits & limitations of the various enterprise mobility management strategies including Android Enterprise, Device Administrator, DEP, BYOD; MAM vs MDM
  • Strict adherence to version control, piloting and change management processes
  • Ability to configure and maintain security policies in MDM solution and assist in enforcement & remediation as required
  • Familiarity with working in Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) to deliver applications, configuration, and policies via the Cloud Management Gateway (CMG)
  • Familiarity with application deployment via Mobile Device Management utilities such as MS Intune, Ivanti Mobile Iron or Jamf
Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience, Computer Science a plus
  • IS certifications encouraged
  • Prior law firm experience

Pursuant to the salary transparency provisions of the New York City Human Rights Law (NYCHRL), please find the compensation range specific to this role if based in New York.
  • New York pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on skillset and experience: $90,000 to $105,000 annually.
