SUMMARY
This position is responsible for development and program treatment implementation as described in state standards, monitoring weekly programming, oversight of client treatment implementation, clinical supervision of staff and review of resident chart documentation and clinical oversight as needed. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensure Safe Harbour complies with Department of Health and Department of Human Services rules, statutes, and guidelines for a Board and Lodge facility and an Intensive Residential Treatment program. 2. Conduct appropriate assessment activities, complete diagnostic assessments, manage and implement treatment planning, complete drug screening tools, and share all relevant materials with the resident and treatment team.3. Assist in discharge planning as needed or requested. 4. Provide individual and group therapy/rehabilitation skills group. 5. Complete and maintain accurate case records, reports, and paperwork in a timely manner.6. Provide oversite and direction of the development of Individual Treatment Plans as needed 7. Provide Treatment Supervision to staff as directed, provide feedback/discussion about the staff’s work and to review the individual treatment the recipient receives 8. Perform documentation reviews of resident records on a 30, 60, 90-day increment, or as needed. 9. Provide after hours on-call services to the staff at the Harbour10. Facilitate skill building and therapeutic services, in individual and group formats, with an educational focus and aimed at the individual needs of the client.11. Participate and gather information related to the Quality Assurance reviews and provide to the Treatment Director to evaluate the treatment services and identify and assist in facilitating any programing changes if needed12. Provide in-house training to staff on behavioral health topics.13. Facilitate and/or attend staff meetings and contribute to interdisciplinary staff meetings.14. Assign staff weekly encounters and skills to work on with residents as directed15. Provide an opportunity for case reviews for staff unable to attend the weekly staff meeting. 16. Maintain compliance with South Central Human Relations Center and HIPAA regulations regarding confidentiality of client records and the sharing of information between agencies and providers. Ensure that proper releases of information are obtained when needed. 17. Provide crisis services to residents.18. Educate clients about the availability of Family Psychoeducation and provide this service as needed.19. Implement services and programming that is in line with best practices for Illness Management and Recovery as well as Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment.20. Provide for one’s own personal growth through professional reading, attendance at workshops, seminars and conferences while maintaining appropriate requirements for one’s specific professional license compliance.21. Ensure staff follow the policies and procedures for the program and all guidelines required for compliance with the Department of Health License (B&L) and the Department of Human Services (IRTS/Crisis Residential Stabilization).22. Available to provide evening, weekend supervision as identified by the Director, for example providing supervision to new hires on those shifts, providing supervision, support, and observation of staff interactions rehabilitation work with clients

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs miscellaneous projects and completes various tasks as requested by management.

Perform all duties of a Mental Health Practitioner and/or floor staff.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS: · Fluency in a 2nd Language but not required Education, Experience and Credentials
  • Licensed as a mental health professional in good standing in Minnesota/or follow licensing supervision requirements with the board of behavioral health
  • Consideration given to a candidate that fits clinical trainee qualifications
  • Must be/when eligible to provide treatment supervision to staff
  • Must have a minimum of three years of mental health experience.
  • Must pass required Background Study

  • Ability to effectively relate to residents in community or facility.
  • Availability and flexibility to work additional hours, as need dictates.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to independently conduct fire drills twice yearly and accept direction when drills are assigned.
  • Must be able to move about the building at a rapid pace in response to emergencies.
  • Must be able to perceive, assess and respond to resident needs rapidly and accurately.
  • Must be able to work assigned shifts with alertness to resident and facility needs.
  • Must be able to supervise residents in medication self-administration with
  • accuracy. (Safe Harbour Registered Nurse to work with Staff to regularly assess skills for supervision of resident medication self-administration)
  • Must be able to perform reaching and lifting activities of up to 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform household cleaning duties to include mopping, dusting, plunging toilets, moving furniture, and keeping walkways safe and clear of snow and ice.
  • Must maintain a valid Minnesota driving license with a safe record.
  • Must have own vehicle and be able to drive the Center’s vehicles.

  • Mainly in the residential facility, moving throughout the building to address resident needs.
