Title: Membership Advisor

Reports to: Club Manager

Job Description

The Membership Advisor position contributes to World Gym success by promoting the club and company, introducing prospects to the joys of fitness and maintaining a positive member experience for increased member retention.

• Model and promote the mission, values and guiding principles of World Gym through appropriate appearance, words and actions.
• Engage in opportunities that positively impact the member experience.
• Adhere to all operational standards related to providing a great member experience.
• Consistently look for opportunities to gain new members and elevate service levels.
• Prospect for qualified leads and create traffic through mailers, referrals, outreach, etc.
• Develop relations within community and local small businesses by involving club in community events.
• Build a network of contacts through prospecting and referrals.
• Develop and maintain relationships with current members on a name to name basis.
• Handle member complaints and resolve issues promptly.
• Determine prospect’s goals and motivation, be knowledgeable of all products, programs and services and ensure prospects understand the value of World Gym’s role in helping them reach their fitness goals.
• Reach and surpass monthly sales projections.
• Perform all basic transactions including retail and entrance control.
• Attend sales and training meetings as necessary.

The Membership Consultant reports directly to the General Manager.

Effective management, team building and training across several diverse departments

Exceed sales goals consistently and lead by example in production. Must have direct sales experience

Create a consistently fantastic member experience and drive up positive member feedback metrics

Enhancing profitability by organizing and delivering an appropriate range of fitness activities and programs

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED

• College degree in business, sales & marketing, or related field preferred
• Prior sales experience preferred
• Excellent customer services skills, outgoing, motivational and friendly
• Ability to deal with pressure in meeting sales quota
• Excellent listening and verbal communication skills
• Ability to build relationships with members
• Ability to resolve conflicts in a professional, tactful manner
• Work cooperatively with other staff and members
• Ability to multi-task and learn quickly
• Ability to operate a computer and proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word
