PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Responsible for the Greater Omaha Chamber member focused efforts. Goal is to focus on providing value and meaningful connections to retain existing members, securing new members that have long-term vs. transactional potential.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Contact existing members via phone and in-person contacts to establish rapport, determine their business needs, and collect pertinent data.

2. Identify companies that are candidates for membership and sell them on the value proposition of being a member of the Chamber; adapt value proposition and delivery to audience.

3. Utilize lists of companies fitting the main target demographics identified as member prospects to achieve new memberships.

4. Identify your own prospect companies through market research, referrals, networking at Chamber/non-Chamber events.

5. Close sales in a timely manner; ensure that all business info is entered into CRM system accurately.

6. Manage sales time to focus on achieving department goals.

7. Manage events, ribbon-cuttings and other non-sales time efficiently to achieve department goals and to provide service with excellence.

8. Maintain good working relationships with all volunteers, staff and members.

9. Provide excellent customer service and exhibit the highest degree of ethical conduct.

10. Clearly and professionally communicate the organization’s vision, mission, values and business objectives to both internal and external audiences.

11. Maintain an excellent understanding of Chamber products, benefits, values, and services and be able to effectively represent and speak to the Chamber value proposition.

12. Work with the team to create and implement strategic initiatives to advance our efforts of attracting and retaining members.

14. Other duties as assigned.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Attend/work a variety of Chamber events and represent the organization as needed at other business and community programs/events, including serving as a speaker at ribbon-cuttings and other meetings

2. Provide timely and accurate response/information on a wide variety of issues and questions about the Chamber and the Greater Omaha region

3. Represent the Chamber with professionalism and integrity

4. Actively participate in diversity, equity and inclusion training in order to advance along one’s own journey of inclusion and acceptance.

5. Coordinate projects with other departments

6. Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

N/A.

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY:

Responsible for operating with the budget, with all expenditures requiring approval of SVP.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and related work experience

1. Minimum of three years’ equivalent experience in sales and/or customer service, in a team environment.

2. Proven success in exceeding sales goals and client expectations, particularly in the sales and customer service of an “intangible product”.

3. Experience/knowledge of with Sales Methodology / Education / Sales processes preferred.

Certifications, Licenses, Designations

Valid Driver’s License

1. Experience in account management, relationship management or customer support preferred

7. Proficiency with a variety of technology including CRM, presentation and Microsoft software

8. Social media knowledgeable —LinkedIn, Twitter.

9. Ability to operate audio visual equipment.

10. Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects with short deadlines.

11. Excellent attention to detail.

12. Demonstrated strong leadership and communication skills (written and oral).

13. Team environment player.

14. Strong marketing and negotiation skills.

15. Must be a self-starter, problem-solver and internally motivated; capable of working with limited supervision

16. An inclusive mindset with proven ability to work well with all types of people and businesses

17. Willingness to work flexible hours and juggle several projects at once

18. Passionate about business success

19. Ability to drive and/or provide own transportation to various locations around the city on a regular basis

Physical Demands

1. Typical office environment 60% of the time. This position may require driving personal vehicle up to 40% of the time.

2. Frequent walking, sitting, standing and driving.
