Office is located in Downtown Los Angeles.

GENERAL SUMMARY
Oversees the job performance of department lead, insurance f/u representative and support staff. Adheres and enforces all department and company policies and procedures. Ensures that department performance goals are attained. Trains and motivates, assigns work, evaluates, disciplines subordinate staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Successfully operates a PC, software/applications, telephone, fax, scanner and copier.

- Effectively communicates and interacts with clients and vendors.

- Ensures that department staff is trained/knowledgeable consistent with the key responsibilities of the relevant job description.

- Organizes and assigns work to department lead, insurance f/u representative and support staff.

- Performs daily audits of worked accounts to ensure department operational procedures are being implemented.

- Coordinates with manager/director or human resources to recruit, interview, and hire qualified subordinate staff.

- Performs introductory and annual performance appraisals for all department staff in addition to off-cycle reviews.

- Reviews and approves employees’ time records in electronic system.

- Encourages, motivates, and develops staff to the maximum of their ability; leads by example.

- In coordination with manager, counsels department staff and conducts disciplinary actions as appropriate up to and including termination.

- Provides assistance to the department manager and/or senior management.

- Performs special projects as assigned.

- Complies with and enforces all company policies and procedures.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Has successfully completed two years experience as lead or three to four years outside industry experience with two years supervisory experience.

- Displays excellent oral and written communication skills; possesses excellent organizational and follow up skills; meets deadlines.

- Is knowledgeable with HIPAA plus local, state, and federal laws pertaining to healthcare insurance follow-up.

- Is knowledgeable with state and federal employment laws.

- Possesses and demonstrates professional telephone demeanor and appearance.

- Interacts successfully with all levels of staff and management; responds positively to direction and supervision.

- Identifies and implements solutions to problems.

- Demonstrates the ability to work in a fast-paced environment; can multi-task.

- Displays the ability to keyboard 30 wpm; is proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook.

- Possesses a high school diploma or equivalent.

- Must successfully pass a criminal history screening

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $28.00 per hour
