Thomson Memory & Attention is looking for a Medical Billing Clerk to handle the following billing tasks as a part of our billing team here at Thomson: managing patient statments, fielding billing calls and inquiries, fund recoupment from pateints, etc. This person would train and work out of our Algonquin office.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Prepare statements and manage statement delivery through the post and email
• Contact and follow up with patients to reconcile outstanding statements and accounts
• Field in-coming calls on behalf of Billing Department
• Makes outbound calls to patient with insurance verified benefits and walking through those beneifts for testing at Thomson
• Explaining coverage to patients via phone and setting up payment plans if needed
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
• Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

• A minimum of high school diploma or GED
• Proficient in computers and relevant software applications and practice management technology.
• Possession of strong mathematic skills, problem solving skills, and sound judgment.
• Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
• Ability to be proactive and take initiative.
• Exhibit high level of quality through attention to detail and monitoring of work.
• Clear verbal and written communication, as well as interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks, as well as to accept direction on given assignments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour
