Looking for a fresh challenge in a small surgical practice? Top-rated surgical practice located in Holmdel near Bayshore Community Hospital has an immediate opening for a full-time Medical Assistant to join our small team of healthcare professionals weekdays from 9am to 5pm.

Our board-certified and fellowship-trained surgeon is affiliated with Hackensack Meridian Health network. The surgical practice specializes in metabolic and bariatric surgery (80%) and laparoscopic and general surgery (20%).

What You’ll Do:

• Key assets: Efficient, friendly, helpful, problem-solver
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Answer phones and greet patients upon arrival.
• Knowledge of insurance verifications.
• Complete patient intake and basic vitals.
• Confirm and document all pre-op clearances and insurance requirements.
• Schedule patient appointments and surgery dates. Schedule upcoming procedures with the OR.
• Follow up on prior authorization and precertification requests when practice administrator is unavailable.
• Support the surgeon and patients as needed.

What You’ll Bring

• High school diploma and some college preferred. An MA certificate is a plus but not required.
• 1-2 years experience working in a medical office, surgery patient experience a plus
• Eager to learn on-the-job and improve operational and clinical efficiencies as needed.
• Familiarity with Hackensack Meridian Health systems useful but not required.
