Summary Position Description:

Conducting and obtaining Blood Pressure, Bone Density Exams, Retinal Eye Images, HbA1c, Urine Protein testing in patients homes.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill and /or ability required. Must be willing and able to learn retinal imaging procedures if no previous experience

Job Functions/Core Duties:

- Performs retinal imaging testing

- Cleans and prepares devices

- Educates patients on Hedis screenings.

- Performs Blood Pressure, HbA1c and Urine Protein testings, dexa scans as needed

- Conducts inventory and maintains stock level of disinfectant wipes, and all other needed supplies.

- Manages continuous and timely patient flow by effectively communicating with team members.

- Ability to communicate with patients regarding any concerns or questions pertaining to dexa scans, blood pressure, retinal camera, HbA1c, urine protein, acquiring images and process.

- Willingness to perform any future duties assigned and undergo necessary and periodic training.

- Willingness to travel within the counties and cities specified in the job posting.

Essential Duties

  • Greets patients in a cordial, friendly and prompt manner; accompanies patients with screenings
  • Verifies patient information and makes necessary documentation to patient charts
  • Patient positioning
  • Captures patient imagine by using specialized equipment; fundus photography
  • Identify basic landmarks of the retina as well as determination of right/left fundus
  • Adequate focus and adaptation for different media opacities
  • Monitors patients' conditions and reactions during screening process
  • Manages duplicates, proper image-archiving and storage; escalates any problems or concerns to management
  • Contributes to maintaining a clean and sterile environment
  • Maintains compliance with all practice procedures and protocols
  • Obtains HbA1c and urine protein values and blood pressure checks
  • Maintain digital imaging databases
  • Proper documentation
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance for all patient information
  • Patient Image file sorting and labeling and archiving
  • Maintenance and monitoring of image storage, archive and retrieval
  • Notify appropriate staff in a timely manner regarding adequate photography supplies
  • Maintain all devices and equipment.
  • Archive digital images appropriately
  • Cleaning and Care of all Instruments
  • Ensure accurate and timely data reporting requirements are being met
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed
  • Special Projects-Assist with any special projects

Work Location:

Minimum Education and Experience

Medical Assistant or;

LVN/ LPN

BLS Certified

Familiarity with Retinal Imaging exams experience a plus

1+ year medical experience preferred

Pay: $24.00 per hour
