Sanctuary Treatment Center is a Substance Use Treatment center in the San Fernando Valley California, that's dedicated to helping clients rise above their past trauma and addictions into happier, healthier lives. We are currently looking for Med Techs to join our team!
The Medication Technician is responsible for providing mental health care services via observation of medication self-administration and on-going consultation under the supervision and direction of the Licensed Vocational Nurse. The Medication Technician assists the licensed nurse in maintaining facility medication records, client medical records, preparing medications for self-administration, and client medication inventory.
AVAILABILITY, we are currently looking for:
- Full Time
- PM and Overnight Shifts
- Must be available weekends and holidays.
- Eligible for Shift differential for specific shifts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrate appropriate boundaries with clients
- Observes medication procedures
- Assist clients in maintenance of prescribed medication
- Demonstrate effective crisis intervention
- Provide information (verbally and in the communication log) to staff during shift transition
- Identify, prioritize, and resolve problems accurately and efficiently
- Assists the LVN in maintaining facility and client-specific medication records and inventory
- Assists the LVN by documenting client medical records
- Complete medication error and adverse drug reaction investigation, documentation, and reporting to nursing staff
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age.
- High School graduate or possess a GED. Coursework in counseling, psychology, or social work
- Experience working with substance use/mental health preferred.
- Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant (MA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Medication Technician certification or nursing coursework preferred.
- One year experience as a Medication Technician or Resident Aid engaging in medication observation preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team player. Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record and personal automobile insurance.

Pre-Employment Requirements
- Hiring is contingent upon completion of a TB test, and clearance on a drug screen and pre-employment physical. Clean driving record and current first aid and CPR certification or willing to obtain upon hire.
