This position is for a Mechanical design engineer responsible for all design activities, material selection, documentation, and implementation of modernizations on electric overhead cranes and woodyard cranes.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering design in compliance with engineering principles, including:
  • Engineering design of material handling solution in accordance with industry codes.
  • Engineering calculation for verification and validation.
  • Engineering simulation and analysis work using finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Design circuit and 2D/3D layout in computer aided design (CAD) environment.
  • Engineering documentation on mechanical system design processes.
  • Release design solutions to company product lifecycle management (PLM) system.
  • Review complex engineering, designs, program, or project of others in compliance with engineering principles, standards, codes, designs and statutes.
  • Achieve design needs and resolve major conflicts; manage design changes; monitor allocated budget and schedule, etc.
  • Provides consultation in person or in writing, as a technical expert to internal clients. Develop practically sounded solution to address existing situations and further improvement on the current technology.

Qualifications

This position provides the opportunity for interaction with project management, frontline sales personnel, and customers. Site visits for application evaluation and controls commissioning require the ability to work at heights up to 100 feet off the ground. Travel is estimated at 5% to meet with customers, commission equipment, and participate in product testing at our manufacturing facility.

Minimum education requirement is a BS in Electrical Engineering. Knowledge in Industrial design codes & standards for mechanical and steel structure construction, Mechanism and machine design, power transmission

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
