Job description

The Maintenance Mechanic helper is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment, according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of business goals and objectives.

General Duties:

• Inspect and provide overall preventative maintenance on hydraulic systems, pneumatics, motors, drives and production machines
• Properly perform Lock Out/Tag Out procedures
• Carry out Work Orders and projects as assigned to accomplish results ON TIME
• Rebuild major mechanical parts and/or equipment
• Communicate with department managers, supervisors or foreman regarding repair decisions, wait time and provide status updates
• Maintain current logs of maintenance and repairs of all equipment
• Experience with MIG & STICK (welding and cutting skills a plus)
• Many aspects of the work are physically demanding (walking, standing, reaching, bending) and may be indoors or outdoors
• Must work mandatory overtime when notified
• Must wear PPE and adhere to all safety rules
• Prior industry experience a plus but not required
• Non-smoking property

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Mechanic (extrusion machines preferred)
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills
• Welding skills a plus
• Must be able to work in a team and follow instructions from Leadman
• Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing (English literacy)
• Prior experience working in a fast pace manufacturing environment is a plus
• Must be flexible (work days, nights and weekends as required)
• Must be able to tolerate seasonally hot and cold working environment
• Detail oriented and quality minded
• Safety oriented

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
