Job purpose
BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Material Planner. In this role, and under direct supervision of the Operations Manager, the Material Planner will be primarily responsible for the execution of defined material planning and scheduling for prototype manufacturing.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluates prototype assembly requests and designs for feasibility regarding acquisition of prototype material
- Develops material planning schedules to determine rate and flow of material orders and purchasing
- Responsible for entering material purchase requisitions into PR system to support schedule
- Support Prototype Purchasing to source prototype material to support schedule
- Directly monitor supply base to track and manage purchased material through receipt
- Adjust material schedules and plans according to production status
- Coordinates Material Coordinators
- Coordinate material pulls to support authorized builds
- Maintain inventory records and reports on consumption of raw material, quality containment, and other aspects of material control
- Provides material reports based on procurement, availability, and consumption
- Coordinates the optimum flow of the material supply according to the area of responsibility
- Organizes material flows and inventory to reach production targets and work in process goals
- Assists in execution of stock taking within the area of responsibility
- Stock controlling-optimization within the area of responsibility
- Coordinate Prototype builds from receipt of components to shipment of finished units, and every step in-between, and escalating issues to the proper level when needed
- Material transportation support
What we’re looking for
- Associates Degree in related discipline or equivalent experience preferred
- 3-5 years’ experience in logistics field related preferred
- Must work well in a team environment
- Maintain a SAFETY-FIRST focus for all actions and behaviors
- Works under limited supervision
- Prior shipping/receiving experience preferred
- Prior experience with SAP system preferred
- Competent with Microsoft Office Suite of Software
- Familiar with Bill of Material and Part Numbering/Versioning
- Ability to lift 45lbs
- Knowledgeable in GD&T
