SUMMARY

As a material handler, you will remove rolls of greige fabric from the knitting machines, remove and replace sets of nylon and lycra from machines, and perform any other duties that shift coordinators assign.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Replace yarn or rubber beams in knitting machines
• Install new warps of yarn
• Doff rolls of fabric from the knitter

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk up to 8 hours per shift, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to climb on top of knitting machines or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 75 pounds. Also, using tools (wrench, etc.) to exert pressure when tightening caps, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Associate must have 20/20 vision or 20/20 correctable vision. Due to possible foot hazards associated with this job, safety shoes are required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is at elevated levels requiring the associate to wear hearing protection.

Personal Protective Equipment required in Job:

Safety glasses/goggles, Safety shoes, and Hearing protection

Must be able to obtain a forklift license.
