KIN-TEK Analytical, Inc. is a small growing company that designs, manufactures, markets, sells, and supports permeation devices and instrumentation that generate gas mixtures for a broad range of applications including calibration and simulation of user defined compounds.

Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer will work with KIN-TEK Management to define and document product specifications, determine hardware components, firmware architectures, and test embedded hardware and firmware to ensure product compliance with specifications.

She/he will take a hands-on approach to learn and support existing products to suggest innovation and will play a key role to help develop, design, prototype, launch, and support new products into production.

This person will follow and provide Quality Control/Quality Assurance guidelines to ensure manufacturing processes provide high quality output.

This position will provide leadership and training for Production personnel to continually improve the quality of all products throughout the manufacturing processes and improve/initiate documentation and testing efforts to ensure quality outputs.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

· Provide hands on approach of leadership and oversight to Instrument Production Technician.

· Effectively communicate with customers, employees, and management for product support, as needed.

· Provide guidance on diagnosing, repairing, calibrating, testing, and replacing components for malfunctioning instrumentation, as needed.

· Follow established procedures, processes, and ISO 9001:2015 QMS and/or applicable standards.

· Implement processes to perform product testing, as needed to ensure compliance with specifications and codes.

· Document manufacturing actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.

· Assist in root cause analysis aligning with internal Quality Management System.

· Develop improvements to manufacturing and maintenance processes, documentation, safety practices, and procedures to decrease lead times.

· Work directly with customers to investigate customer complaints, troubleshoot, evaluate problems, and recommend solutions.

· Assist in updating product documentation, preparing technical manuals and drawings, and implementing change orders.

· Advise and support manufacturing personnel during warranty and repairs, and maintenance services.

· Engage actively in a team environment to create a positive team attitude.

· Provide Production status reports, inventory reports, and other feedback as requested by Management.

· Train technicians on manufacturing/testing processes to ensure product success and align process strategies to company goals.

· Work directly with management on new product design and implementation to increase sales.

· Perform other duties as requested.

Desired Education, Skills, and Experience

  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Professional experience in designing instrumentation and establishing manufacturing processes.
  • Solid track record of designing and producing complex circuits and understanding programing languages.
  • Knowledge of typical PLC systems, I/O wiring details, PID controllers, and Flow and Temperature control devices.
  • Experience with computer-aided design tools, documentation software, and excellent hands-on assembly and diagnostic skills.
  • Relevant experience in instrumentation and systems architecture including broad technical knowledge in hardware and firmware development.
  • A self-starter and team player with excellent communication and leadership skills.

Salary range is $43,000/year to $65,000/year depending on Education, Skills, and Experience.
