About This Role
As the Manager, Project Engineering you will manage a team of energy engineers/junior project developers as well as act as a lead developer as required for Compliance as a Service, Energy as a Service, Energy Savings Performance Contracts, and other applicable contract vehicles for commercial and industrial customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build a team of top-tier energy engineers/junior project developers through active hiring activities: identify and source for new talent; support internal and external recruiters; perform interviews; and develop and negotiate employment offers
  • Collaborate with Senior Management in developing go-to-market solutions and technical offerings for the evolving decarbonization, energy efficiency, demand response, renewable energy, energy storage, and resiliency needs of the Commercial & Industrial market.
  • Actively develop and mentor all team members
  • Manage project workload and assignments to optimize operational efficiency
  • Support team members’ generation of project development budgets for preliminary, competitive, and investment grade audits, project development schedules, and project development plans of action.
  • Provide project direction to ensure technical approach/delivery and cost budget are properly aligned. Represent engineering team on senior management reviews and customer presentations.
  • Actively produce labor forecasting for direct reports and project team members.
  • Facilitate active coordination with other functional groups including lighting and water solutions, M&V, construction, design, commissioning, and operations and maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain standards (Methods & Procedures) for the energy engineering and project development functions.
  • Work with engineering/analysis team to standardize analysis tools for enhanced consistency and accuracy of calculations and evaluations across projects, and to streamline peer and management reviews.
  • Support sales organization in prospecting new and existing clients, support on-site meetings, participate in sales presentations and develop technical write-ups for proposals.
  • Support Construction, O&M, and M&V during implementation and performance phases.
  • Establishes key elements of tactical and operational plans with a direct impact on the achievement of results. Focus is on short to medium-term tactical and operational plans (e.g., less than 1 year to 1-2 years) to achieve organizational results.
  • Develops new processes, standards, or operational plans in support of the functional strategy.
  • Budget accountability or manage elements of a construction budget.
  • Oversees and coordinates the administrative and operational aspects of ongoing projects within program guidelines.
  • Liaises between project management and planning, project teams, and line management to ensure smooth operations in project execution.
  • Directs the work of employees assigned on projects in technical manufacturing and administrative areas.
  • Conducts project meetings and prepares reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.
  • Sets priorities, allocates tasks and supervises project staff to meet project targets, budgets, and milestones.
  • Identifies and reacts to project problems and recommends solutions, such as reallocating resources.
  • Acts as a point of contact with the customers and develops an understanding of customer needs to meet demands within the contracted scope.
  • Up to 25% travel
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 8+ years developing ESPCs, UESCs, and EaaS offerings
Preferred Qualifications
  • PE License preferred
  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering preferred
  • Strong organizational, technical writing, and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office including Word, and Excel
  • Strong facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • High level of attention to detail

Pay Range:
$108,750 - $152,250 Annually
