What you will need:

• Education: Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, economics or business administration with a major in one of these categories is required and an MBA desired. Strong planning and analysis knowledge.
• Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years related experience. Previous healthcare finance experience strongly preferred.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, strong Excel skills required.
  
  

What you will do:

• Lead the preparation of the Hospitals’ Annual Budgets and on-going forecasts
  • Lead development of department level budgets/forecasts for Income Statements, FTEs and key statistics
  • Partner with departmental leaders in the development of the budget ensuring targets are met.
  • Assist in the annual development and implementation of the long term capital plan. Prepare on-going forecasting and tracking reports.
  • Create reports and data collection templates as necessary
  • Communicate and meet timelines, develop and implement budget work plan
  • Lead the career development and training of junior staff, managing project assignments and validating work products.
  • Verify and test budget tool configuration rules to meet annual requirements
  • Develop reporting
• Financial Analysis
  • Prepare and issue monthly analysis of operating results. Perform analyses of results to explain month and year-to-date variances and assist departmental leaders with completion of variance commentary.
  • Develop routine and ad hoc reports for senior and division management.
  • Provide in-depth financial analysis to support business decisions (i.e. equipment purchases, profitability analyses).
  • Provide training to other department members in how to use various systems, build business models and understand company business issues.
• Miscellaneous Surveys and Special Analyses/Projects
  • Assist with the month and year end close cycles.
  • Coordinate organizational hierarchy changes with Decision Support and Accounting.
  • Maintain policies and procedures documentation.
  • Significant involvement in process/system implementations.
  • Independently prepare surveys and questionnaires (i.e. AHA Annual survey, IDPH Annual Questionnaires, various U.S. Census surveys).
