POSITION: Manager, Clincial Operations - Prospect Spine & Pain

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Department of Clinical Operations The Manager, for Prospect Spine and Pain (PSP) reports to the Clinical Regional Manager This position is responsible for ensuring the overall efficiency and smooth operation of PSP. To achieve this goal, all staff members work cooperatively to provide Nirvana patients and their families with exceptional medical and personal experiences. The Manager’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, overseeing all professional activities at this location; setting individual and departmental professional goals; helping staff members to achieve these goals; creating and maintaining efficient work schedules, and ensuring billing compliance. To achieve a successful operation, ongoing collaboration with the other Nirvana locations and relevant departments is essential.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS) in one of the following disciplines: science, healthcare, business
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA): highly desirable but not absolutely required
  • Minimum of five years of experience managing, or assisting in the management of, a private or public healthcare system
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Calendar): highly desirable but not absolutely required
  • Proficiency in utilizing electronic medical records (EMR or HER) and billing software
  • Experience of ambulatory care
  • Knowledge of schedule management, patient registration, electronic medical records, referrals, authorizations
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills; able to converse effectively in challenging situations
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to effectively handle difficult conversations; be a good listener and gain consensus
  • Experience in negotiation strategies and change management: highly desirable but not absolutely required
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to express honest opinions with diplomacy and provide positive, timely feedback
  • Ability to identify operational and procedural problems and re-engineer operations and procedures, when necessary
  • Flexibility: able to readily accommodate changes in workload assignments
  • Composure: able to remain calm and function successfully in stressful situations
  • Excellent time management; attention to detail; produces precise, accurate written reports and records
  • Professional, personable demeanor; demonstrated reliability and integrity

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages non-provider staff members at multiple locations
  • Supervises the activities of clinical and administrative staff members at Prospect Spine and Pain (PSP)
  • Assists in setting individual and departmental goals and in helping staff members achieve these goals
  • Helps staff members develop efficient, realistic schedules and ensures their compliance
  • Oversees billing operations to ensure accurate and timely outcomes
  • Collaborates with the other Nirvana locations and departments to achieve established goals
  • Attends monthly clinician meetings whenever these proceedings involve PSP, as requested by the Chief Operating Officer (COO)
  • Attends meetings that focus on improving departmental operations and enhancing the development of PSP personnel
  • Communicates on a weekly basis with the COO to review departmental functions and other COO-established projects
  • Develops (or refines) and implements policies and procedures involving, for example, efficient workflow and referral protocol
  • Prepares (or revises) educational materials to be used by Nirvana clinical professionals with their patients

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
