Job Summary;

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) is looking for a Manager, Benefits and Compliance. In this newly created role, you will help to ensure the Benefits Department remains compliant with all state and federal requirements and filings. This role will report to the Deputy Director of HR and work closely with them to communicate staff changes and educate them on their rights under AIPAC’s benefit programs.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage all benefits compliance filings for the year (Non-Discrimination Testing, PCORI filing, CMS & HIRD
    filings etc.).
  • Must monitor and maintain state-specific compliance requirements, including filings as well as new state
    laws that may impact the benefits packages that AIPAC offers
  • Responsible for communications to staff as necessary
  • Develop and maintain an annual compliance calendar
  • Manage all leave programs, including FMLA, Disability, and Workers' compensation claims. Must monitor
    and update leave educational materials as laws change
  • Review plan documents annually for accuracy
  • Responsible for compiling annual Workers Comp audit
  • Recommend and develop benefit audits as needed
  • Analyze monthly claims trends and provide recommendations for areas of opportunity and/or education
  • Manage new hire benefits orientation and annual open enrollment process
  • Assist in annual 401k and Health and Welfare plan audits, including preparation of draft 5500s and
    Financial statements
  • Managed all benefit vendors and work directly with representatives on coverage issues and contract
    renewals
  • Work directly with the HRIS team to ensure the system is updated on new benefits legislation and associated taxes/deductions. Monitor as needed
  • Partner with HRIS to implement vendor file feeds and other applicable enhancements to the benefits data
  • Responsible for enrollment and ongoing management of executive benefits
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Skills:

  • 7-10 years of compliance / analytical experience with a minimum of 5 years owning the Benefits function
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, HR, or a related field
  • CEBS certification is highly desirable
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office
  • Prior experience with Ultipro (UKG) and Smartsheet a plus
  • Great attention to detail and time management
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain high-level regulatory requirements to others
  • Excellent customer service and high level of patience
