Job description

We are seeking a full-time self starting applicant who can handle maintenance, truck rental and occasional office work to include answering prospective tenant questions and rental of self storage units.

Position Requirements:

Responsible for maintenance efforts at a self storage facility and more. The position requires basic building maintenance and some basic electrical, plumbing, replacement of damaged storage unit walls, rent U-Haul trucks and periodic rental of self storage units.

General Responsibilities Include:

Visually inspect storage units and equipment
Responsible for overall maintenance of storage and office facilities
Clean space(s) as vacated, hallways and grounds as needed
Clean office, restroom and common areas daily
Maintain a neat, safe and secure facility including minor maintenance and daily lock checks
Perform physical site inspection of facility
Assist in lock cuts and relocation of some unit contents in preparation of auction sales
Light carpentry, electrical and plumbing; i.e. change light bulbs, unclog drains, door hasp repair/replacement, replace damaged storage unit walls with OSB panels as needed
Assist with quoting, renting and checking in U-Haul trucks (including parking and preparing the truck for the next rental, checking fluids, tire pressure and light cleaning)
A general knowledge of site maintenance including good customer service skills
Perform other duties as assigned; work with minimum direct supervision; operate effectively on a team
And additional items as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

Must own a dependable vehicle with insurance and a valid California driver’s license
Possess a high school diploma or GED
Be proficient in the use of a computer
Must have strong enthusiastic and professional people and customer skills
Be able to pass DMV, background, drug screening tests and be bondable

Benefits:

$15.00 per hour

Sick pay
After your 90 day probationary period, begin accruing hours per pay period toward a one week paid vacation after one year of service
Qualify for periodic bonus pay based on your contribution toward financial success of the property after your 90 day probationary period
