Nittany Paper (Marcal) is searching for a full-time Maintenance Mechanic!

The Maintenance Technician, reporting to the Director of Maintenance & Engineering, is responsible to lubricate machinery, change parts, or perform other routine machinery maintenance to keep equipment in good condition. Work performed involves the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Start machines and observe mechanical/electrical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems
• Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance
• Inspect or test damaged machine parts and mark defective areas for repair
• Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work
• Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists
• Collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment
• Inventory and requisition machine parts, equipment, and other supplies so that stock can be maintained and replenished
• Record repair and machine maintenance information
• Communicate effectively with teammates
• Share knowledge and train others

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
• Maintenance: 3 years (Required)
• Mechanical knowledge: 2 years (Required)
• Proficient with Allen Bradley Studio Suite, Siemens, or other software platforms
• Can manipulate Ladder Logics
• Lift, push and pull up to 55 lbs. repeatedly; Stand and/or walk regularly for entire shift
• Ability to use computers & have basic computer skills, including MS Outlook & Office
• Able to read electrical schematics
• Ability to use electrical test equipment.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, write simple correspondence
• Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
• Ability to actively listen and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
• Perform in a fast-paced environment
• Pass a drug test, criminal background and employment verification process

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
