Sims Lifecycle Services (SLS) is seeking a Maintenance Technician, preferably with experience in the electronics industry. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for operation (as needed) and maintenance of all shredding and associated equipment and overall facilities maintenance as directed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the shredding equipment operation by performing system checks, preventative maintenance, work orders, safety inspections, inventory duties and facilities maintenance.
Fill vacancies in the shredding department support staff as needed.
Communicate inventory levels to the inventory Specialist to minimize machine downtime.
Ensure the department is kept clean and dust free as possible which includes but is not limited to changing all air filters as required by the preventive maintenance schedule to ensure dust levels remain below OSHA standards.
Schedule preventive maintenance to avoid interference with production.
Participate in training as required
Promote a team atmosphere at all times by working cooperatively and professionally with co-workers and management personnel.
Report any accidents, incidents, safety issues, errors, or other problems immediately to appropriate management personnel.
Conduct Huddle Board meetings as required.Where applicable, operate mobile plant equipment and train as necessary.
Support and comply with all Safety, Health, Environment, Community, and Sustainability (SHECS) policies, procedures, and initiatives, including SimsMMway Program, to ensure a safe work environment. This includes conducting job Cycle Checks and Safety Conversations, developing, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures and Safe Work Procedures, and submitting HazReps.
Assist with incident investigations as necessary.
Comply with all Company policies, procedures, and initiatives.
Identify and assist with continuous improvement and cost control activities.
Support Lean Six Sigma program initiatives.
Work efficiently and diligently to provide cost competitive service to our customers.
Provide appropriate guidance, assistance, and training to co-workers to ensure ability to work efficiently and diligently to provide cost-competitive service to clients.
Ensure all motorized vehicles are in a safe operational condition and the required paper work is filled out each shift.
Other duties as assigned.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
