Eaton’s Aerospace sector, Fluid and Electrical Distribution division, is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician III to join our team on 2nd Shift. This position is based at our Beltsville, MD facility.


Position Hours: 3PM-11PM


Position Overview:

The primary function of this role is under minimal supervision, performs expert level mechanical, electrical, and systems troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s manuals, diagrams, schematics and sketches.

In this function you will:

  • Performs expert level break-fix & preventative maintenance. This includes but is not limited to: observing equipment in operation to determine root cause of problem; dismantling to gain access to and remove/replace defective parts; testing of device to observe performance; and performing tests for electrical circuitry and mechanical systems
  • Diagnose and repair issues over wide range of CNC mills, lathes, hydraulic presses, vacuum furnaces, drills, welding equipment, etc.
  • Identifies and sources parts, supplies and repair items as necessary. Performs evaluations of alternatives to improve cost and / or reliability of equipment.
  • Independently performs maintenance as per industry standards.
  • May be required to setup and operate multiple machining operations including but not limited to: lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. May perform welding tasks.
  • Leads and participates in CI activities-processes, results and cost savings using CI tools and methodology. Complies with 5S+ and housekeeping standards.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance industry and/or Associates degree with a technical focus & 2 years of related experience in general industry.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Beltsville, MD will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Position Criteria:

  • Experience in troubleshooting repairs, precision alignments, and general maintenance of applicable process equipment.
  • Understands electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control systems. Can analyze the problem, synthesize alternative solutions, and perform repairs.
  • Experience in electrical troubleshooting, use of multimeters, precision alignments, and maintenance of applicable process equipment.
  • Background in machining, metal working and welding machines
