Position Summary

The Account Manager in the Truckload Department fosters strong customer and carrier relationships and manages a variety of Full Truckload clients. This position manages client engagement, monitors day-to-day activities, and cultivates the business relationship to encourage growth within existing accounts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage clients with primarily Full Truckload needs
  • Maintain strong relationships within the client organizations at the decision –maker and end-user levels; present a consistent company image to those clients; build and maintain high levels of client satisfaction
  • Develop SOP’s, KPI’s, and other measurements while onboarding new customers and ensure these are met and reported upon regularly for existing customers.
  • Manages the contract renewal process
  • Supports day to day operations
  • Conducts annual account reviews
  • Promotes account penetration by pursuing sales growth opportunities with current customers within other departments
  • Nurturing prospect relationships over extended sales cycles
  • Manages the negotiation and closing processes for each unique contract
  • Other administrative duties as assigned

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

The employee is also required to use logic to define problems, collect information, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, interpret information, and deal with abstract variables for unique or unfamiliar situations. The employee must use problem-solving skills to formulate and apply appropriate courses of action for routine or familiar situations. The employee may be required to perform numerical operations including basic counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing or more complex quantitative calculations.
  • Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is inside a central heat and air-conditioned office building. The noise level in the work environment is minimal.
