Job Title: Live-in House Assistant

Job Summary:

Provides daily oversight to the safety and well-being of the residents.

Responsibilities:

· Monitors chores. Not to exceed 1 hour per day six days per week as shown on work schedule

· Facilitates one weekly house meeting. Maximum 2 hours per week (to include weekly drug testing).

· Orders and pickups food from food bank. Maximum 2 hours per week

· Ascertains need for and secures services of emergency response (i.e. police, fire department, ambulance, etc.). Reports these hours to supervisor as they occur.

· Sorts and distributes mail.

· May perform UA testing on residents who are suspected of drug/alcohol use. Reports these hours to supervisor as they occur.

· No other duties may be performed without prior approval of supervisor.

· The House assistant is not a house manager and can leave the site at any time or for any reason and will need to notify their supervisor if leave will be longer than 24hrs.

For the live-in position paid staff. The above is in addition to the following:

The employee will be compensated for ten hours of paid time per week for the specific duties that are listed in this job description. In the event that the employee is needed for more than ten hours of work per week, they will be compensated for their worked time. The additional work time hours need to be approved prior to working them.

Required Skills/Abilities:
· Professional verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

· Ability to accomplish goals and produce valuable results with minimal supervision

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent professional boundaries

· Maintain and execute confidential information according to HIPAA standards

· Exercise mature judgement, and are highly motivated, self-starting and proactive

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Be able and willing to work flexible hours which may include evenings or weekends

· Have or be able and willing to obtain CPR/First Aid training Provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination

· Have reliable transportation and:

· A valid driver’s license

· The ability to qualify for Good Samaritan Shelter insurance coverage

Successfully complete the following as a condition of hire:

Tuberculosis Test Background Screening Drug Test

Work Environment
The employee may be in contact with individuals and families in crisis who may be ill, using alcohol and drugs, and who may not be attentive to basic personal hygiene, health and safety practices. The employee may experience a number of unpleasant sensory demands associated with the client’s use of alcohol and drugs, and lack of personal hygiene. The employee must be ready to respond quickly and effectively to many types of situations, including crisis situations and potentially hostile situations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate in an office setting. Sometimes work may become stressful when working under pressure.
