JOB SUMMARY:

McCalla Raymer Leibert Pierce, LLC (MRLP) is currently seeking to expand its Illinois Litigation division with the addition of a Litigation Associate. MRLP has established itself as a national leader in representing some of the largest banks, mortgage lenders and investor clients in commercial and residential foreclosure, contract, title disputes and real estate litigation throughout its 15 state footprint. As an associate attorney with MRLP you will have the opportunity to work in a positive team environment while focusing on real estate litigation involving residential and commercial foreclosures, title disputes, title curative actions, and other real estate and financial services matters. You will make appearances in court for routine and contested hearings, develop case strategy, draft pleadings, motions and discovery, conduct settlement negotiations while having autonomy to strategize on best outcomes for your cases. The position allows the employee to work remote with a flexible schedule and provides exposure to a wide variety of interesting case assignments. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Independently manage case load active litigation files with assistance and mentoring of senior attorneys where necessary.
• Appear in court for routine matters and argument on contested motions.
• Communicate with clients regularly for updates and case resolution.
• Prepare and respond to discovery, prepare motions and other pleadings as needed during the course of litigation.
• Collaborate with team members on strategy and resolution options.

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:

• J.D. degree, licensed in Illinois and in good standing with the Illinois Bar
• 1 year civil litigation experience preferred, but not required
• Knowledge of Illinois Code of Civil Procedure and Supreme Court Rules

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

• Effective time management and organization
• Strong writing skills
• Ability to work independently or in a group/team setting
• Ability to interact and communicate well with clients, staff, peers and management of all levels
• Experience with title curative issues and replevin matters is a plus
• Knowledge of Illinois Mortgage Foreclosure Law is a plus
