Responsibilities

As a Storekeeper in the Linen Department you will perform duties such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • receiving functions, distribution of linen, supplies, and equipment, as assigned within all facilities at UCLA Health System in accordance with standards established by management
  • stocking, cleaning, and organizing the inventory holding rooms and other work areas
  • inventory, fill orders, pack, deliver, create and maintain appropriate inventory documentation
  • physical inventory counts and accurate data entry
  • working closely with the clinical staff to identify their needs and staging preferences
  • setting up and / or modifying products within a supply management software
  • placing orders to replenish inventory supply levels using a handheld or third party software to replenish inventory to set PARS
  • reconciling packing slips against orders and delivered content
  • assessing and revising PAR levels to accommodate changing demand
  • recommend or assist in inventory cost reduction initiatives

This position is a support position to patient care units, clinics, including the procedural interventional, and radiology areas.

Salary range: $23.66-$23.66 Hourly

Qualifications

Required:

  • The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Must be able to lift/carry and transport supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations; addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Must be able to perform heavy manual tasks including pushing/pulling heavy linen carts up to 400 pounds.
  • Skills for accurate calculations of inventory replenishment, weight, units of measure, and package counts are essential.
  • The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, comfortable with entering data on handhelds or computers and eager to learn.
  • This person must be enthusiastic, thrive in a team environment and confident to share their ideas for efficiencies and improvement.
  • This person should be disciplined, and conscientious enough to adhere to strict deadlines and protocols without continuous monitoring.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures, as well as typical standards.
  • Inventory management experience in a hospital or clinic and electronic ordering using a handheld utilizing a fully integrated supply chain fulfillment software such as Lawson.
