The Cliff House Dining Room is a AAA 4 Diamond rated restaurant and is currently accepting applications for Line and Breakfast Cooks. Starting pay is $16 to $18 per hour Depending on Experience.

Job Summary:

The Line Cook works directly under the supervision of Executive Chef and Sous Chef.

The Line cook is responsible for all daily mise en place of menu items as well as any specials on the menu for that day, any special function food preparation, and all the preparation and production of all food items listed on the menu. The Line Cook is responsible for maintaining the highest quality standards when working on food preparation and production at The Cliff House.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Be on Time! Please be in uniform and ready to work. Talking to other employees can be accomplished while you are performing assigned tasks. Once you have clocked in go directly to the executive Chef or the Sous Chef for instructions of what needs to be done, unless you have already been assigned a specific task.

2. The line Cook must always maintain the highest standards of food quality and sanitation in both preparation and cooking of food items. Part of this is the cleanliness of the Line Cook and how well groomed their appearance is and hoy proud they are to wear the uniform.

3. It is extremely important that the cook's area is clean and that the area around which the cook has worked has been maintained as well. Remember cleanliness and maintenance is all of our jobs.

4. Opening and closing duties for each shift of the day are a critical part of the Line Cook's job. Making sure that all aspects of the food and kitchen are ready for each shift has a significant impact on how smoothly and efficiently the kitchen runs and works with the waitstaff. It is also a critical part of the morale of the kitchen as well as the waitstaff.

5.Work closely with the waitstaff to ensure that the guest is given the best possible service.

6. If a problem occurs with the waitstaff, please bring it to the attention of the Chef or the Maitre D' immediately.

7. Seek to be the best. Look to do all things to the best of your ability as well as looking to help other.

8. Have an even temperament to encourage teamwork.

9. Have the ability to plan one's work or modify one's style of work to achieve the goals set by the Chef.

10. Have a basic knowledge of the equipment in the kitchen and it's uses.

11. Have a basic knowledge of cooking techniques as well as some of the Classics.

12. Have a solid knowledge and understanding of The Cliff House Policies.

13. Have the ability to maintain a positive attitude as well as the ability to maintain grace under pressure.

14. Have the desire and want to be the best team in the world.

15. Perform other miscellaneous duties as required.
