POSITION SUMMARY

The Line Cook will ensure that the highest quality food is prepared per the exact recipe specifications at all times. The Line Prep Cook is responsible for all aspects of their assigned station, completes all items on the daily preparation list, and cleans, sanitizes, and maintains equipment, utensils, and tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares all required items.
• Sets up service units with needed items.
• Serves items in accordance with established portions and presentation standards.
• Notifies Sous and/or Executive Chef of expected shortages.
• Ensures that assigned work areas and equipment are clean and sanitary.
• Maintains neat professional appearance and always observes personal cleanliness rules.
• Sets up, maintains, and breaks down prep cook station.
• Requisitions items needed to produce menu items.
• Adheres to state and local health and safety regulations.
• Covers, dates, and neatly stores all leftover products that are re-usable.
• Maintains the highest sanitary standards.
• Assists with other duties as assigned by Sous and/or Executive Chef.
• Additional duties and responsibilities will be added from time to time.

PREREQUISTES/EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Must be able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils.
• A team player with good communication skills.
• Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure.
• Ability to work positively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of weights, measurements, volume, and cooking procedures.
• Have a passion for fine food.
• 1 year restaurant experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is desirable. Training from a culinary school will be an asset.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to stand on your feet for the entire shift.
• Must be able to reach, push, pull, bend, stoop, and go up and down the stairs.
• Continuous use of hands and arms.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
• Ability to work in elevated temperatures.
