Hours: Varies — weekdays, weekends, early morning, and evening shifts
Supervisor: Aquatic Program Administrator
We will train! The Lifeguard has responsibility for maintaining safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas. Various shifts are available.
Duties: Monitor the safety of the Aquatic Center patrons, assist swimmers having difficulty, perform housekeeping tasks, and do pool chemistry maintenance.
Qualifications: Must be 15 years of age or older; must possess or have the ability to obtain:
- Current American Red Cross Waterpark Lifeguard Certification
- Current American Red Cross First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certification
Wage: 12-step salary scale: $18.53 to $25.65 per hour. Starting wage DOE.
Benefits: May be eligible to participate in the WA State Employee Retirement System. Part-time employees accrue sick leave at one hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked. Discount on most Park District classes, free pool pass at the Aquatic Center, and basic fitness membership at the Bainbridge Island Recreation Center (BIRC) while employed for employees and dependents.
