Pediatric nursing is the heart of BrightStar Care of Bay County. We proudly provide in-home private duty nursing for children with medically complex conditions. Our patients range from infants to young adults, some requiring advanced care such as tracheostomy and ventilator care. What to expect with BrightStar Care:

As an LPN, you will work with pediatric patients in their homes, providing medical management and oversight per physician-ordered plan of care. We specifically match each nurse with an assigned patient based on location, experience, and skill set, with scheduling that is flexible and allows for work-life balance. Our nurses begin their days with a comprehensive head-to-toe assessment that is guided by BrightStar’s electronic documentation system. Following your assessment, your patient may require scheduled medications, g-tube care, treatments such as cough assist or vest therapy, or scheduled activities that promote a holistic approach to meeting their care needs. Oftentimes, our nurses may accompany the patient to outpatient treatment centers, physician and specialty appointments, or to school to assist with nursing care in the classroom setting. Ideal Candidate

• G-button, tracheostomy, ventilator experience, or are willing to train
• One (1) year of nursing experience
• Six (6) months of pediatric experience preferred

Requirements

• Active LPN/RN license in the State of Florida, eLNC, or multi-state
• Level 2 Background eligibility with the Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA)
• CPR/BLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross (cannot be online only course)
• Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray
• Valid Driver’s License and auto insurance
• Must be able to stand walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull. Varied assistance is required depending on the mobility of the patient. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• COVID vaccination is NOT required for this position
