The Estacada School District is seeking a pool of applicants to be considered for a Learning Specialist position at the secondary level for the 2023/2024 school year.


We’re looking for educators who are:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Valid Oregon TSPC License (or ability to hold prior to August 22, 2023) with the Special Education, Generalist Endorsement and committed to keeping their license in good standing with TSPC.
  • Prefer teachers who have a strong support of a continuous learning model in the classroom for students and staff; support and believe that a system based on learning, as opposed to teaching, should be our systems focus; supports proficiency based learning and grading, and is willing to take risks.
  • Successful classroom experience desired.
  • Successful candidates shall demonstrate proficiency to communicate clearly and appropriately verbally and in writing in English. Bilingual is a plus, but not required.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work in person, on campus and/or virtually.
  • Meet the District minimum physical requirements, basic skills, and/or health standards for the position, including the recent vaccine mandate. If you are not vaccinated against COVID-19, we will be unable to offer you the position unless you have a documented medical or religious exemption.

PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Planning for the instructional needs of all students; Attending to the special needs of students; Teaching high expectations for student achievement and behavior;
  • Implementing state and district curriculum; Providing instruction that promotes all skill development, knowledge, and reasoning;
  • Using a variety of assessments to inform instruction; Creating an environment that maximizes student learning with a focus on character development;
  • Developing partnerships that enhance student learning;
  • Modeling and teaching a growth mindset;
  • Providing culturally responsive instruction;
  • Modeling and teaching respect with an awareness of diversity; Demonstrating continuous professional growth.

SALARY, BENEFITS, CONTRACT

  • $53,832-$91,740 (Starting 23/24, dependent upon verified years of experience and education as shown on official transcripts)
  • $2,500 annual caseload stipend
  • 193 Contract Days
    • First day of In-service August 22, 2023
    • First day with students August 28, 2023
  • 6 paid holidays

  • Contract July 1, 2023* - June 30, 2024. One-year probationary, renewable contract by March 15th.
