Swing shift - Monday thru Thursdays = 1:25 pm to 12:05 am

Weekend shift - Friday = 12:00 pm to 12:30 am / Saturday = 9:00 am to 9:30 pm / Sunday = 6:00 am to 6:30 pm

Vander-bend is actively looking for Lead Welders! We have multiple positions open with different shifts available. Each person designated as a lead retains his/her primary job title and responsibilities, but with the added responsibilities listed below.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize work in the department as instructed by Supervisor.
• Delegate assignments based skill level, experience, and job priorities.
• Assist workers/operators at their work station when needed.
• Monitor, and maintain department paperwork such as quality checklists, and set up sheets, component tracking and bar coding if applicable.
• Assure cleanliness in the department by scheduling regular department clean ups.
• Follows verbal and/or written job instructions.
• Perform MIG and TIG welds throughout a limited range of material gages, alloys and positions.
• Performs basic adjustments on MIG and TIG welding machines as needed.
• Handle and stack parts in a way that ensures dimensional and cosmetic integrity.
• Develop and build basic fixturing.
• May operate weld robot.
• Maintain a safe and organized work area.
• Performs basic sheet metal operations in various departments as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• 5 yeas or more of metalworking related experience
• 5 years or more of MIG and or TIG welding.

Skills

• Must demonstrate adequate skill in the underlying position to be able to lead and train others in the department, and to inspect and certify their work.
• Should computer skills and knowledge of Visual Manufacturing adequate to run department reports, view drawings, train subordinates in the use of Visual work orders and logging.
• Requires the ability to read and understand written documents.
• Read and comprehend basic blueprints.
• Use of basic weld fixtures.
• Basic arithmetic such as addition and subtraction.
• The ability to straighten welded parts.
• Use of dial calipers, vernier calipers, protractors, squares, and other measuring instruments as required.
